A nice welcome is to put a round pedestal table 120cm alone in the centre with a couple of dining chairs either side of the hall table if they fit - otherwise just one that you can bring over to the table when need be. Alternately, or also, you could put a couple of 'x' shaped cowhide stools behind the couch to bring to the table. The table becomes a servery for parties or somewhere for occasional work or games table etc. It is important to keep the table clear with maybe fresh flowers or a plant at all other times as it is your entry. Also, do not add anything - like chairs - to the back wall as it would give a cluttered look. Best wishes.

To Ella Kate Thrupp....."a woven piece"...as in a wall rug or a tapestry suggested by yours truly and Tribbletrouble441452k7 Trek? Or maybe you have a more novel idea in mind? Have you come across any "woven" art in your professional travels? I have a friend who actually weaves tapestries on a loom as they did centuries ago thread by thread. They are exquisite and each a unique artwork. She works professionally on commission Very time consuming, meticulous and expensive and she also does it simply for relaxation and sells them. Wonder would there be anything along this line available commercially today? Such a "woven piece" would make an enormous impact in any room, so beautiful and unique in a bedroom especially if a design woven to order...but Yikes $$$$$. Afterthought...a painted MURAL designed to order might be a touch of luxury if you engaged somebody to do it and they presented you with a series of pictures for you to choose from.....that would not fall down! I did one for a friend's guest donga in Charleville QLD...she wanted a fantasy and had a lot of input herself, it was a collaborative effort and she got exactly what she wanted. Can't go wrong with a mural...can always paint over it when you want something different.

Thanks all for the comments! I have styled the rest of the house to a T but the master always seems to take a back seat when life gets too busy after the initial moving in stage. I have removed the wedding photos (actually, they're only there because my hubby is away for many months and I like to be reminded of him) - but, I agree - they don't suit! We have bedsides that match the bed but this space is too narrow for them to fit in, so the current ones are a stop gap while we wait and see if hubby's work is going to move us elsewhere next year or not. If we are staying, new bedsides or bedroom suite are the on the agenda. Based on tips here, I've turned the doona over for a simple white with navy dots pattern, removed the wedding pics, and simply put my woven wreath on one of the hooks, with the other hook to be filled when I find something. Either that, or I'll find one large b&w print and put the wreath on the side wall. Thanks again for the helpful suggestions! @Kate i like your suggestion of custom trimming a door. But how can I install so that it looks just like a wall? I did some measurements. 19” between wall and side of nightstand. 38” between wall and bed. Each nightstand is 19”, total of bed with nightstands is 106”. floor to ceiling 8’, headboard to ceiling 65”. how Wide should I make the panels? would it be a good idea to use ready made kitchen cabinet doors like ikea but I would not use handles? (As they are for frameless kitchens)? They have a simple flat white Design, inexpensive of all the cabinets I think HÄGGEBY https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/haeggeby-door-white-50267172/ Particleboard, Polypropylene, Foil, Melamine foil, Foil, Melamine foil and make my custom frame.
