Which design is best for this master ensuite?
Please help, I am just about to start renovating my bathrooms and need help with the design.
This is the floor plan and measurements of what is currently there, but the toilet is right infront of the vanity. Any suggestions would be amazing. Thank you

Comments (34)Alright let's see if we can put this to bed. There's nothing at all wrong or amateurish with your home. Agree seeing photo it's arguably too much of a compromise nor cost effective to move/change the window considering outcomes. The solution here will come in the fit-out and how to balance that as best as possible within the constraints set. You can do it with a 1500 size bath option, 900x1200 shower. and it's essentially a tweak/fine-tune from the idea you had originally. (I shouldn't really do this but here you go/I'm feeling generous today ;) ) You run a ledge all the way around the back and end walls. Mirrored cabinets all along the end above the basin. This will feel massive and luxurious with the ledges/more dimension & interest. But you'd need a concealed in wall cistern. Any privacy concerns (in bathrooms) can be managed by combination blinds/furnishings - arguably much more flexible (and cheaper in this situation) than changing glazing to frosted glass. Comments (7)using the available space the storage walls in the wiw could be about 30cms wider than the existing biw but the ens is smaller without enough space for a vanity...moving the wall would create more wiw but the ens is still not long enough for more than a 1200 wide vanity so for all the trouble and expense of an extension (that will need council approval and fees) there isnt any real improvement on what you already have and the linen storage has also been lost......See More- 6 years ago

6 years agoTo save on costs, because of the concrete slab, I suggest to leave plumbing in current position. Replace the corner bath with a standard rectangle bath, or freestanding back to wall bath, update fixtures on vanity and shower if required. The major expense is to move the toilet across, closer to new bath. This is possible, but a messy undertaking. Are your walls brick, or stud walls? If they are not brick walls, you could install a toilet with the cistern hidden in the wall for more room in bathroom.
6 years agoMoving the plumbing is the obvious thing to avoid from a cost perspective, but I reckon if you‘re budget could stretch to a little extra plumbing then your best bet is to move the door, at least layout-wise.
By moving the door into the centre of the wall you could free up space for the double vanity (negating the toilet/vanity combo). Then you could throw in a triangular shower (whatever the technical name is) - or have a walk-in shower with the open entry on the angle - which would free up floor space and make all areas easy to access. And you keep your massive bath :-)
