How to fit walk-in shower and bath into “large” bathroom?
Comments (35)Hi Deonne If your bathroom requires the two doors, my suggestion is NOT to have a bath. Keep it very clean and neat Across the recess have either a walk-in shower with a 600mm opening OR a glass panel and door. You may consider a seat in the shower ( example on our website ) A recess ( niche ) for shower 300mm high max length Wall hung, all drawer vanity. In-wall cistern toilet suite. Mixer diverter, overhead and handheld shower. Quality tapware, with min 10-year warranty Porcelain floor tiles min 300 x 300. Tile to ceiling, ( unless home has high ceiling, if high, tile to an architrave height ) min tile size 600 x 300, Ceramic to rein in cost...See MoreBefore and after of a walk-in shower
Comments (29)My walk in was well over a metre deep and width was a couple of metres to the wall. The glass screen was a metre and a bit so there was no splashing into the room. The shower came off the end wall same as the pic however it was one of those variable height showers on a rod, I have no doubt the shower in the pic will be splashing into the room which would drive me nuts. Mine looked great, so open, neat, big, except the floor hadn't been layed properly so instead of the water going toward the drain under the shower head it went all over the bathroom, nearly 3 metres out right down to the loo creating a massive puddle in front of the vanity as well. Getting it sorted with the builder was nightmare I eventually gave up and ended up having a low barrier installed from glass to wall. It still looked fine and stopped the problem but one really has to ensure the floor angle is done properly before embarking on the walk-in shower exercise....See MoreBathroom walk-in shower for minimal splash
Comments (35)the last option with shower and toilet either side of the window and hinged entry door opening towards the laundry cabinet... hinged door is cheaper and offers more privacy and solid core hinged doors will improve sound reduction and the back of a door can support extra towel rack and/or clothes hooks and the tall window needs only be same as top of door height (about 2.1m) and if necessary simple hinged doors on the laundry nook will use the least space and are only open occasionally...See MoreHelp! Where to locate linear floor waste in shower?
Comments (4)depending on the length of the shower...1500 or less have the linear waste across the opening at E and 1800 or more i would prefer a longer C but you should discuss with the plumber and tiler as various options means the floor has to slope in different directions..i notice that you have a small floor waste in front of the vanity...given the choice i would prefer to have all the floor slope toward a walk in shower with drain at C and no screen but if you want a screen to the floor that will interrupt the slope and trap water so it may be better to slope the vanity area and the shower space separately...See MoreDr Retro House Calls
