Skirting to complement wirebrushed, wide boards??
Comments (3)Thank you Luke Buckle, I just love this floor. Especially knowing what was there beforehand. This house is a double brick, split level, mid century monster with vinyl - asbestos floor tiles. It is more government building than home like but has huge potential. I am trying to create a little warmth and character with these floors. The kitchen is quite contemporary but it is an outback home and the feel I am going for is organic/relaxed loft/barn conversion.... I have found it very hard to pigeon hole my style!!...See MoreWhat floor to put with skirting boards.
Comments (6)The skirting boards in pic are a meranti type colour as are the doors and architraves. Hubby does NOT want to change the colour or even consider white. Besides carpet what type of flooring could we lay that would still tie in well?...See Morewhat skirting board for a modern house
Comments (2)I have shadow line ceilings, mine are simple and inserted guessing mdf. The designer wanted to create more shadow lines. Keep it plain and simple. Also my ceiling, walls and skirts are all painted in Whisper white, ceiling in flat, walls Saturn and skirts in semi gloss. This was the designers idea, saying that pencil line ceilings always should be done like this....See MoreCost to install skirting boards
Comments (6)Thanks so much for the comments. It’s literally cutting & installing the skirting boards only (no architraves) and we are providing the boards already painted (5.4m lengths). It will be a clear run as it‘ll be right after the new floors are laid so no furniture around at all. Quite a lot of angle cuts though. Still reasonable? I suppose it comes down to peace of mind on a quality job or take a punt on a handyman (unfortunately don’t know any so would have to take a chance). Oh dear, wish the budget wasn’t so tight otherwise I wouldn’t hesitate....See MoreKate
