help with exterior colours

Hi, I would like to update our exterior colours and fence. Could you please give me some suggestions. it is very dated. we have been doing lots of renovating inside and it's very light and bright, white. scandi/coastal. i love pops of black. we are changing the middle window to a larger one and also making the sliding door towards the back of the house much larger. I am also stuck on what colour to update the window frames. we are about to install a pool in the area that you see in the front of the house. any suggestions I would really appreciate.

Hi, would you consider painting the bricks white, or using cladding, and also having the roof painted? What does the block look from further back and what sort of fences do the neighbours have? Some possible inspiration...

Hi JE C! Yes we will be painting the roof also. the green fence is the whole way around our block. I don't think our budget will stretch as far as to paint the bricks at the moment unfortunately

Since you are going to clad the posts , paint each post different colour . That would be the best way to see it at different times of the day and choose the one you like. You can even repaint it again and again until you get it right.

I Like the up down cylinder/square black lights but your lights are high set so it would be just down light. I have a light like the last photo but it's a chunky cylinder instead of square, I think I got it at Bunnings ages ago, it's on an internal courtyard wall and looks amazing when turned on. Could your cousin do one of each, ie: up down and just down, Just down on the entrance as you don't want to light up the entrance ceiling and up down on the tall wall, it would be great if it could be dropped down a bit. cheers

Thank you so much, Julie. I thought you would be interested in the end result, given how much encouragement and advice you so generously gave me. :-) I do love it. It has made such a difference and I think (fingers crossed) the landscaping will give it the finishing touch. We are reroofing the pergola, so will post photos when that is completed. The gazebo looks great after its facelift, too.

I think a combination like the 3rd picture I posted would work, ( ignoring the large black gable end) . I would paint the fences a dark grey and soften them with hedges or other planting.
