I did repaint mine once using the techniques suggested above and the tub surround was in the same condition as yours. It lasted more than 10yrs. Make sure you sand the rust right back if you can. Also suggest you tape newspaper around the entire area (floor, walls, doorway, stainless top etc) as the overspray from the paint will travel and make a mess.

What direction does the home face. Well glazed area (with appropriate eaves) overlooking a northern backyard, very good. The same windows overlooking a western backyard, bad, as it'll get way to got in summer. I'm a bit confused about where the deck is though. Will it shade any new windows added to the galvo section of the home?

Hi Susan, do you have any photos of the bathrooms you could upload? Years ago we renovated our bathroom in our 1970's brick house by having the wall tiles resurfaced and the result was really good - the original wall tiles were a light apricot colour and the floor tiles were mosaics in khaki (a terrible combination) but we couldnt afford to retile so we kept the khaki coloured mosaics on the floor (even though we didnt like them) and just resurfaced the wall tiles in a an off-white colour. The end look was actually better than we expected and we ended up liking the floor tiles So if you have to do a major colour change I would suggest just resurfacing the wall tiles and keeping the floors as is. But even less cost would be to add some interesting and colourful accessories to off-set the offending tile colours. For example blue/green tones like aqua, teal, duck egg and eau de nil actually work really well with orange/peach so adding some towels and accessories in this colour could really transform bathroom number 3. And dont underestimate large plants - plants look great in bathrooms and adding some really large ones will break up the tiled areas

No point in repairing your wardrobe ' again " You need to determine the souce of moisture and prevent water running under your home, Your photograph suggests the bedroom is agaist an exteriorwall at the lower end of a driveway. The drain in the photograph could be a previous attemt to "fix " Water always flows on the top of rock, you need to disrupt this flow. without seeing the problem,my suggestion is:- Dig a trench across the wall outside about 300 mm deep draining to one side of the exterior bedroom wall {may need a jack hammer) Sydney probably sandstone, ( a bit softer when wet ) Check dampcourse, and waterproof veritical wall in trench ( after wall dries ) A rough gestimate $5,000 - $7,000+ Can be done by home owner if handy
