I think Natural White would be fine. But really the only way is to test it on the wall.

thanks bigreader. i have patches everywhere. it looks different everywhere. a little dark and yellow perhaps but matches the window trim beautifully.

I painted a previous house throughout in Whisper White. I have to say I was a little disappointed with the outcome as the white turned out to be very slightly grey/blue and quite a cool white rather than a warm white. I’ve seen antique white USA used on walls and it gives a warmer white. Hope this helps.

We have too many choices. Any will work.
I like a colour diff between wall and ceiling. Antique will give you that but it is not my favourite colour. I like a fresher colour.

The colours also change based on sunlight around the room and also type of light globe. Go with your gut. Enjoy the refresh.

During our whole Reno process, I had chosen Natural White, for its warm, soft and neutral look. i felt Antinque White was great on the morning, but too creamy in the afternoon light.
Our painter, however, suggested double strength Whisper White, which has the most calm, true ‘bone’ (rather than cream, pink, blue or other tones) hue, which, to me, lends itself to both a warm or cool palette, and doesn’t throw different shades in different sunlight. We also used ceiling white on the ceiling and whisper white half strength on trims. I hope this helps!

thanks all. i will do kate. thanks do much for everyones ideas. ive decided on the natural white. 1/2 on trim. vivid white ceiling. its all very rushed. i would have liked to change handles on linen cupboard. but will take a day at a time.

last minute- gloss or semi gloss aquanamel on doors and trim

Semigloss is more soft looking, your choice.

Would the same colour on ceiling and walls give the allusion of higher ceiling? If, not which combo of White paints would achieve this? And does the gloss level play a part in achieving this? Thinking of Dukux Natural White (low sheen) for the walls and Deluxe Vivid White ceiling Flat for the the ceiling. Will this achieve higher ceiling?

If I have no cornice but square set ceiling, will the two different whites still make the ceiling appear higher or better to do walls and ceiling all in the same matte white?

I would choose the same colour for the ceiling and the walls if you have square set detail. The ceiling should be a flat finish and the walls should be something that is wipeable (low sheen) because if you use a matt finish on the walls it will be hard to clean any dirty marks from it. You generally use a flat finish on the ceiling because it is unlikely to get dirty and it helps to hide any imperfections in the ceiling.

Im a little late seeing your post but I would choose Natural white to blend with your windows. Antique White USA has more red tone in it and Whisper white has more black. Natural white is a very versatile warm-toned white. It will look different in different aspects of the home as will any white you choose and the amount of natural light in the space. Id do the ceiling half strength in flat finish, walls in wash & wear low sheen and trims(doors, architraves, skirts) in half strength satin finish. Natural white used in pics below. Best wishes

I agree totally with Noni and find this combination she has noted is always a winner.

If you want the white to be a touch 'crisper' then use 1/2 strength on walls and 1/4 strength Natural White on ceilings.

gorgeous pictures. thank you all for your comments. painting is still underway. turned out to be a bigger job than any expected. but its looking good. very white. i have never lived in a white house! i will post pictures when its finished. since you hall have been so helpful though i am going to keep asking your opinion if thats ok. im trying to update. eventually we will renoved kitchen and bathrooms and new carpets. but for now just trying to go slow.
atm door all have gold handles...keep them / update? and i have taken the handles off the linen cupboards and wardrobes. i bought 300mm graphite but not sure. any hints?
