Tricky window and door situation – what do you think?
Comments (77)Hi Siriuskey, They are timber looking tiles - we absolutely love them. We are considering the same for the new place but potentially herringbone/parquetry arrangement. Much more expensive vs. laminate but easier to clean and no concern in relation to water......See MoreWhat do they call this look
Comments (20)Hi Debbie, Just adding to your dilemma, until recently we had lovely offices in Sydney with each room having one wall of full height sliding doors, with wonderful day time views and night time lights. We installed very nice manual Roller blinds for when privacy was needed, but I still wasn't happy with the look either day or night. I love the lovely soft curtains that Mel n suggested but hubby wouldn't be happy as there would n't be any privacy at night unless they had a separate lining. So saying that I still think internal "Plantation" shutters that bi fold across the openings would really add something to your open plan room, I was also thinking sliding stacking panels, you could ask a local supplier to come out and discuss. These shutters are larger and easier to clean. I'am adding some more photos for you. On another note, I hope Debbie doesn't mind my mentioning this but Debbie suffered damage to her home at the hands of her name sake "Cyclone Debbie", when a very large neighbours tree fell down on her property causing a lot of damage, very hard to see your hard work ripped apart. You will get there again Debbie xx The large Plantation shutters look the best to me You mentioned new ceilings etc this could be done if you were having curtains Your view with undercover outdoor area added...See Morekitchen window dilemma
Comments (13)Hi Sharon. Wow, you have done an amazing job! The paint looks great and what a lovely cheerful feature wall. The fridge looks much better ther and must be so much better for you having it closer to the action. Love the white cabinet next to it. Also, that's a beautiful window seat. In fact, your house is really lovely, with so much natural light and views to outdoors. It must be a very cheerful space for you and your family. I think the current stove wall would accomodate your fridge (integrated) and pull-out pantries as you have planned. I'm unsure if your freestanding stove will fit comfortable in space where clock used to be, as it would be pretty close to the sink. Unless you plan to have a new sink in diff configuration? I'm just thinking there's not much space between stove and drainboard for sink for you to place things while using the stove. Of course, if a new sink had drainboard running out the left side, that would give you some benchtop space btwn sink & stove.
