I am clearly in the minority, but its a no for me- the gorgeous brick walls, doorway, character all lost - I think that a lighter touch would have given a much more tasteful, interesting and less generic result and allowed some of the house’s heritage to peek through a modern update. if the owners are happy though, that is what matters, their house, not mine

Splashback is Soho Camel 300x600 with Travertine grout colour. I also used a tile and grout cleaner which cleaned the surface really well. Total cost of tiles and grout was $186 and hire of extra large tile cutter was $160. Acid tile cleaner was $60 but was used on floor tiles as well. My husband did tiling so total cost of splashback about $420 compared with a quote for glass of $3500

Could you swap the fridge with the wall oven, going by your photo both fridge and Wall Oven would fit side by side. I would definately have the fridge on the cook top wall and not on the other side of the kitchen. I see by the photo that the timber beam could be in the way, I would speak to your plumber who should have a simple solution on ducting the range hood. A simple one built into a special cabinet above the cooktop can recirculate or be ducted outside by either exposed stainless tube for your industrial/country look or have the ducting boxed in, the ducting can be flexable so no problem avoiding beams.

I've always cooked, in various kitchens, mostly small, which is a good thing as our new (downsized) place had a small kitchen, which we renovated, to ensure it had the necessities - decent bench space, good appliances, things easy to get to and a pantry that I can see everything! And deep drawers for things like small appliances and plates. I enjoy it but as I've always cooked I don't cook more than I did, but maybe I enjoy it more.
