Help! I think I bought the wrong bathroom tiles
Comments (51)Sounds like a very stressful situation! If there is absolutely no way the builder will allow you to change things (even if they did, I imagine they would ask you to foot the entire bill of pulling the tiles down and replacing all water proofing in addition to new tiles), I can make a few suggestions for improvement. Firstly I would suggest replacing the tiles above the vanity with a white mosaic, a patterned or a textured feature tile/strip. You could also use this same tile to replace the vertical feature in the shower. There are some beautiful shapes and sizes available to choose from. Secondly I would address the grout situation in this way: Floor - dark colour grout & Walls - Light colour grout. Lastly if it does not prove too difficult or expensive, maybe replace the tiles below the vanity with a plain white tile (could be similar size). Good luck and I am sure once you have a lovely mirror up and some crisp white towels, it will look just wonderful....See MoreHow should I approach my 1950s bathroom reno?
Comments (16)Don't wish to upset anyone but the last two years of my father's life it was discovered besides and really bad aortic heart valve problem he also has asbestosis and his breathing was shocking, even on oxygen near the end he still struggled so badly it was horrible for him and just as bad for me to witness it so PLEASE everyone I agree 100% no room for error as the symptom don't show for years after exposure, whatever you decide make it on the SAFE side and don't mess about with your health, my dad was a strong sporty man his whole life and to see him end up like this was heartbreaking, if you can't afford it now find a safe paint and save money until it can be removed ASAP, I think right now get a few quotes too see what you are up for then decided what way forward after removal, good luck and take care...See MoreRedesign a 3-way bathroom
Comments (13)It's about priorities on function. You can't have your cake and eat it so to speak, but you can clean it up and get rid of the awkward angles. Comes down to what's more or less important. Here's an option that gives you back the bedroom but requires a more traditional bathroom + separate powder set-up. Ultimately you know how you'd like it to function and so the solution needs to come from clarification in that regard. Hope this helps Cheers PD...See MoreBEST LAYOUT FOR RENOVATING (SMALL) FAMILY BATHROOM - NO TOILET
Comments (19)Nik Star, I’m jealous of your bigger space ; ) - but so happy you have now been reacquainted with your messing tape! We are toying with the idea of putting a cavity slider in. Thank you Ripple Effekt Siriuskey - yes I really LOVE the concept of a “wet room” - Never imagined that our space was big enough for this but now seeing it’s possible, thinking about trying the bath under the window, then the shower and then vanity on the bottom left corner - just flipping yours slightly. Just trying to find a good bath that’s narrower design to allow for the biggest vanity possible. You are all awesome!...See MoreKate
