Different benchtop colours in the kitchen and scullery?

Hi All,

I am considering using a different colour stone benchtop in the scullery to the kitchen.

We cook with lots of things that stain our current (beige laminex) benchtop (turmeric etc) but i want a light colour benchtop - 3m long carrara marble look engineered stone in the kitchen, so thought the scullery could be prep area for these kinds of food on a less stain prone (e.g. dark) stone bench.

The scullery sits behind the kitchen, with a 1.2m wide entry - similar to the image below - but without a door to close.

Are there any considerations or recommendation around this. I haven't seen many houses with a different benchtop in the scullery. I am also open to recommendations on the benchtop material if you think some products are more stain proof (in light colours)

Thanks in advance,

Ria
