Lovely looking building, however

As it is a strong looking building, especially bottom 1/2, I tend to agree with your husband

Contrast gives good aesthetic balance

The top is snowy mountains 1/2 and the middle is lyttleton and the 3rd is snowy mountains full

Instead of very dated greys, which will dull the house down, a Hampton feel is open, beach and up lighting. I suggest looking at blue Ocean Surf, Sea Drifter or Winners Circle. It need bright and welcoming. Best of luck.

This gives the feels that I think you after, clean, beachy and welcoming. Here on the Sunshine Coast the new suburb Aura is all Hamptons grey. Very dispiriting instead of being its advertised’City of Colour’. It is not welcoming.

You could take inspiration from the following large Hamptons paint schemes

The picture samples I have supplied aren't what I would call Hamptons houses, but shows how to apply the different colours/shades to the building Hamptons or not. As mentioned by Dr Retro it's a good idea to test the colours in all lights and different times of day. Try painting them on large pieces of cardboard etc. You have a lovely house and very much look forward to seeing what you do cheers

Can I suggest lyttleton on the bricks and snowy on the top. Lyttleton will help the lexicon coloured features pop more though.

We are renovating a house at the beach in far north Queensland. I also chose Shale Grey for our new garage doors and it is not as dark as the sample shows. I support the idea that Dr Retro is suggesting to help with your decision.

Hi flossumpossum, I was just wondering whether you had painted your house yet and what colour you went with. A Dulux colour consultant has suggested Lyttleton to me too.
