Need ideas for entry
Comments (12)Hi Wedgelee Coincidentally I was in Ikea today and saw some fittings for sliding curtains/blinds so I'm thinking of something along those lines. I like your suggestion of a Japanese theme, I'm also partial to the Scandinavian effect. I liked the pattern on John Smith's photo and this could work as it will need to be in two sections. Thanks to all who kindly responded to my quest. Sydneymidge...See MoreHelp! Need entrance ideas!! :)
Comments (15)Hi Emma! Megan from Bluethumb online art gallery here. I agree with what a few people have said already about using an artwork that reflects light, either by framing it behind glass or using metallic materials on a canvas. Birds are really trending at the moment! https://bluethumb.com.au/becbartell/Artwork/black-sunrise This piece uses gold leaf to create a reflective background. https://bluethumb.com.au/sally-browne/Artwork/cockatiel-forest Sally Browne's work is very popular, and looks great behind a frame. It's also predominantly white, which will keep the space feeling open and airy. Alternatively, a bold pop of colour will keep the space feeling alive https://bluethumb.com.au/lilynova/Artwork/abundance-of-the-heart https://bluethumb.com.au/penelopeoatesart/Artwork/landscape-narratives Let me know if you'd like any more suggestions! Cheers, Megan...See MoreNo foyer entry ideas please
Comments (12)Ignore what I said in my previous post. The photo you posted explains everything better. Install a hall coat stand where your lamp is. And yes a sheer curtain would be okay. If you change the swing of the door, it would cause issues in trying to get into the hallway. Or you could install an actual door at hallway....See MoreEntrance ideas needed, please!
Comments (9)I love Julie's industrial table ideas -- my worry though is whether they fit with the fairly 'structured' front door ? Having said that , if you did a table top in the the same style and colour as the door , it would look too corporate . So just me personally -- I'd go for a black 'rough' table top and black industrial legs ( steel or wooden ) , and maybe a brass vase , or even one glazed in a primary colour to match the rest that I'll add ! Instead of mirrors , I'd get a large ( say 1.5mtr wide and 1.2mtr tall ) abstract or similar picture in colours that match whatever else you can see ( presumably the lounge area ? ) , and if there isn't much colour , add some -- maybe some red and yellow and orange cushions and a smaller abstract pic ; or blue and green and teal ; or brown and grey and charcoal if you want to be more subdued . Just me . And as bigreader says -- a rug in the predominant clour used too -- in fact , maybe a small rug 1mtr x 1mtr or similar , but a lot larger 3mtr x 4mtr in the lounge or family or dining or whatever you can see upon entering . just some thoughts . . . . . . . . ....See Morebigreader
