Tiling/stacked stone to front facade??
Comments (10)I have seen like an arctic white stacked stone on a house near me - old house updated near my place and the porch now looks amazing. you can go to your local bunnings to take a look at it and apparently it just uses like a tile glue to attach to the brick wall - would need to check on approval with council if this was also allowed. If you can't find builder and want that option, get a tiler as they would also be able to cut these panels and make them look good. - also be sure to get references as they have to do a good job on this as it would be an important feature and be careful not to ruin the facade. Best of luck -....See MoreIs there any way of updating our facade?
Comments (28)It would be good to use Dulux fine Texture Outdoor paint with a texture/spaghetti roller in a sandy (pale yellow) light to mid colour range on the all brickwork, including fence. Horizontal powder coated steel inserts to fence to finish it off in a the same blue as roof, guttering, etc. Leave the garage door colour as is (blue). I'd take out the tree you have planted in front yard as it just doesn't look right and will give you financial pain as it's roots damage your drains, and home. Just have one or two blue large round (you already have lots of straight lines) planters near or on the entrance to doorway. Large succulents like Agave in the pot would look striking and need little watering. Plant dwarf or regular Lilli Pillies on the council strip on both sides of corner in a line about 1.5 metres apart. They are a very fast growing native, that don't drop very many leaves and only need watering in the initial stages. They also are more tall than wide. This will give you more of a private, lush feel without the problems of planting trees in your extremely close front yard. Don't go with any suggestions of hedges....they are fickle and the work involved to keep them looking sharp would be horrendous. You just want to enjoy your home, not be a slave to it! Good luck:)...See MoreSuggestions for facade
Comments (14)I agree w/MB D & D a change to full gable for carport and elimination of small Dutch gables would certainly change the look. I also think porch could be made to feature more prominently. Other than increasing height of its roof, could also consider increasing height of foundation (is it slab?) which would necessitate a couple of steps onto porch/verandah. I know this would increase cost of foundation somewhat, but an idea nonetheless. Our builder suggested that change to our new build, and it did make a positive difference....See MoreIdeas for updating a 80’s house facade
Comments (4)the two doors are confusing and the glass in the laundry door is darker and makes it more obvious in the photo .. consider a a dramatic new colour for the front door and a small gable roof to create a definite entry porch with extra posts and short entry path with symmetrical planting ...the new gable could be added when you're ready to renew the roof and a light coloured roof with dark trim and a bright new front door eg Colorbond Surfmist with Basalt gutters, eaves and posts with a bright blue door?...See Morezac mzee
