Window seats from Scenic Blue Design

While we in principal are designing gardens rooms to support various lifestyles, we are always on the lookout for elements of the home that we can embrace within the design.

With this approach we are able to further blend the inside rooms with that of the outdoor rooms creating greater harmony throughout.

‘What am I on about’ you may be saying. Well the good old window seat often overlooked for its huge positivity. There may not be a seat, but you may have a window that overlooks the garden in whole or part. Think about constructing a seat that lets you sit to read a good book, daydream about the holiday to come or watch your family enjoying the newly created garden. You don’t have to be to elaborate in its make-up. Think about its size as you cannot beat a seat that lets you comfortably lift your legs onto to snuggle on. Sometimes a really nice piece of distressed hardwood suitably cantilevered just adds a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ strewn with large cushions. The other beauty is if its suits, you can use the underside of the seat to show off some of your favourite keep sakes or even act as storage.

Have a think.

Do you have such a space.

If so, see if it will, with careful design consideration, add that so important ‘come over here and rest up’ ambiance.
