Stone countertops in bathroom?

Hi there,

We are about to start building our dream home. The general colour scheme is a lot of white with grey/stone coloured tiles and matt black tapware. We're unsure about whether or not to put stone vanity tops in the main ensuite...are there any reasons for or against? I'm unsure about whether the cost is going to be worth it, or are there options to get the same look and quality for less?

If budget allows, then yes. But there are very good examples of laminex and polytec laminate products that look great. https://www.polytec.com.au/gallery/bathroom/

Thanks! We were told yesterday that getting Polytec laminated countertops in 3 bathrooms would work out the same as getting a slab or stone and cutting it to size for the bathrooms. I don't know how true this is?
