Do you need it to do anything specific? If not leave it as breathing space in a busy room. If you need place a large pot plant in the corner.

What about placing the couch and your other furniture more central along the far wall and having a lovely slinky day bed in that corner. a stack of books and tiny table to hold the cuppa: magic and very relaxing!

I agree that moving your existing pieces further along the wall towards the back is the key.

You can then add a chair, a footstool, side table and lamp to create a cosy reading area near the bookcase.

I would move the chair so it has its back to the bookcase, leaving a walkway between and sliding the couch, rug and tv down. Add another chair in the corner next to the window

Yes move the chair and if possible purchase a longer rug so your eye travels the whole of the room. Kay

Agree with Kate, rearranging the chair with back to bookcase and pulling everything forward would look great, add a large fabulous plant in the corner and embrace the space

you need a large rug underneath your living room furniture to sit ot all on there - not half on / half on.

to connect the dining to the kitchen

i wouid add a pendant over the kitchen bench with a smaller matching one over the dining table - that will connect the spaces.

Definitely a console or buffet with a mirror above it on the wall with whee your dining table is situated.

the mirror will reflect the mood lighting of the pendant back into the mirror.

Use another rug in a coordinating color - not the same ( as your living) to them tie all the spaces together.

Hello Praise, I do hope you can follow your dreams into design or architecture. I do love and have loved being involved in some wonderful projects. Redesigning homes, renovations, kitchens and addressing the clients needs into scaled sketch plans for them. It is so much easier for them to visualise what they want and how it will fit. I was older coming to this my wonderful career but if you can find a course and get stuck into it you will be off to a flying start!
