An update to a Modern Home with a Mid-Century Hint

The colours of red, blue and black of the existing replica George Nelson clock have been used as the general theme through the house to create a connection between the rooms.

The Living Room has a fine-lined sofa in a soft silvery-blue textured fabric against a replica Eames chair in black and walnut and a textured black and white upholstered armchair, against a steel rug creating an anchor for the room. A round ottoman in a “steely-aqua” pops against the rug. Further colour is introduced through the cushions and artwork. A nest of tables are highlighted by the hand-blown glass pendants that hang above them creating a focal point as you enter the room. A striking buffet sits to the side speaking to the overall room. The new fireplace and customed built in entertainment unit is walnut veneer with a composite stone top in Vanilla Noir, continuing the connection of colours and engaging the overall space giving a sense of a larger space.

The dining room continues the theme with a steel-blue velvet dining chair and customed solid walnut dining table ion top of a turquoise textured rug. As it is all open-plan it is critical to ensure that there is connection between the two rooms.

Overall, a balanced home with colour and style providing warm comfortable living for many years.
