Comments (3)If you can do it safely structurally, maybe you could have the room-dividing walls topped with glass - transparent for the most light, or translucent if privacy is an issue - for the top half-meter or so? Or, a less expensive option would be to simply have the dividing walls stop short of the ceiling, but noise transfer between the rooms might be an issue that way. Consider how tall the ceilings are, how tall the occupants of the rooms are, and how private they want to be. :-)...See MoreApartment bathroom renovation - before and after
Comments (9)We've got 2.4 x 2 to play with. We put baths in the last two houses we reno'd but we had bigger spaces. We feel now that possibly it's better use of space and functionality for the house to have a bigger shower, bigger vanity and no bath. Our kids are 8 and 12 now. It's funny about the children and bath thing, as we've debated that back and forth for this current reno but at the end of the day we barely used the bath in the other two houses anyway, granted the second one the bath was the last thing added lol so it was really too late but we were in the first house up until when the kids were 7 and 4. We used to bath them in the laundry sink when they were babies! Then they used to just shower with us. :)...See MoreLikely COVID impacts on an apartment renovation (Melbourne)
Comments (2)I thought someone local would have commented , and I have no specific knowledge of Victoria rules ( in fact , I'm in NZ ) but are you in lockdown ? Can you travel outside your own house ? Are hardware stores open ? Can tradespeople call in unless it is 'essential' ( a broken water pipe etc ? ) . Here , we have just gone into lockdown ( we did in April last year too ) and the above are essentially our rules , so apart from the supermarket or gas station , everything is closed and you don't meet 'new' people . I am guessing that may be your body corporates concern , especially if there are older/vulnerable people already living there -- they probably don't want you coming and going , along with half a dozen tradies , 10 courier drivers and 4 truckies a day ....See MoreAnne Monsour
