Errr...knocking out walls isn't a catch-all renovation solution. The majority of the time the floorplan of the house is just fine. The only weirdness in this house is the fact you've got a bedroom on the back of the house and the living room in the centre. Most home owners want the living area attached to the outdoor entertaining area and the bedrooms grouped together.
Personally I would move the kitchen into that back bedroom, leave the living room where it is and turn the kitchen into a bedroom. That way your living area's are in the right places and your 3rd bedroom is in the right place. You then have a kitchen with direct access to your alfresco area and the possibility of being opened up to the living room.
BUT...you then have to create a heap of plumbing over in another part of the house....$$$. Your kitchen is where it currently is to share the plumbing access points with the bathroom and laundry. But then there is no perfect solution. Knocking out walls is also $$$.
Thank you very much for your post, it is our first project for me and my husband . You have just mentioned something that we haven’t thought about . Thank you once again.😊
Where is north, where are the views, where do you want living to be, how many bedrooms, ensuite? R u looking at moving or redoing kitchen. This all effects options as does budget
