We have had our black bathrooms for over 5 years but with oversize mirrors to reflect the light plus white vanities and cream floor tiling. would we do it again? absolutely!!!

If this is just a budget improvement then I would try to fix the cracked tiles and missing grout, paint the window frame white and add white shutters on the window, paint the vanity white (although I don't like doing that either) and get new handles and taps, toilet roll holder etc., install a lovely white potted plant, as shown above and white fluffy towels. A new white frame on the mirror or replace it with a slightly smaller white framed one. Then I would save up for a white stone bench top or stone overlay bench top and the cream will go nicely with all of it. Unfortunately your shower seems to be the most dated part. If you try to change the door you may find that you have missing tiles, although new floor tiles in the shower would probably look OK and add a glass hinged door. Good luck.

This project was an Auckland City Apartment of which was four stories and we undertook the renovation of three bathrooms. We were engaged by Nicola Manning Design to undertake project management and construction. The biggest challenge in this renovation was the en-suite at on the fourth floor. The design included a stone bath which was 170 kilos. We had to create more bracing in the floor to ensure the bath was safe when it was full and had a person in it. From the beginning, we worked closely with everyone including our client to ensure they were aware of the work and materials needed to ensure this bath was safely installed. Due to early communication and our problem solving around how to brace the floor, the project still ran smoothly and did not affect the timeline. Despite this being a minor variation for our clients, our early communication around costs and options created an easy stress-free decision-making process for our clients, which is what we aim for in every single project. The bath took four members of our team to carry the bath to the top story and was completed over an hour and a half due to the tight space in the apartment. It's great to read all your feedback and understandably some viewers appreciate the heritage in the original bathroom. We designed the space to suit our clients brief, which was to achieve a modern setting with improved functionality. By altering the floor plan, we were able to create the wet room environment, where the walk in shower sits proud of the feature freestanding bath, with the beautiful leadlight window the perfect backdrop to honour the tradition of the home. We opted for grey shaker profiled cabinetry and subway tiles that are softer elements often used in home renovations of this era.
