with such a gorgeous bedhead, floral artwork and the dark grey wall i would only have plain white or honey (dog) colour sheets and doona cover with maybe a texture like pintucks, broderie or a very tiny pattern..the doona covers that you've posted would look better in a plainer bedroom but if you're aiming for a less feminine look then maybe remove the art work and add some chunkier lamps and keep the existing doona or the last one you posted
An all linen doona cover in an oatmeal to tone with the bed head. With white linen sheets. No more grey. Linen isn’t cheap but it adds texture and feels great.
When I look at the doona images, would I be right that your choices are guided by the commonality of the colours which feature in the prints and the back wall? As they are both quite dark and the bedroom doesn’t seem that large, I think both the large patterns & the depth of colour of any of these doonas would be a little overwhelming and I’d opt for white (as oklouise suggests). It also picks up the petal colour of flowers OR, pick up the softest mauve pink that the prints contain. A white doona would be an easy to find solution, whereas a plain block colour in the pink would be harder to find - it needs to be a dusty (for want of a better world “dirty pink”) The white could also be repeated in the larger pillow at back. I did think your dog was a good addition of colour! Hence adding the contrasting cushions in a very pink tan, along with the throw. Texture could be added with these. A fluffy throw perhaps, and a wee print on the cushions. If you can sew a straight line you can sew cushions so off to fabric store for this.😊 I’d also be shifting one of the prints to another wall and hanging the other one lower, (even lower than where I drew it) above the bedside table. The bed head is quite tall and the prints don’t seem quite right above it. I’ve had a play with a sketch and enjoyed myself throughly. Kept playing with a colour palette and this is what came up so I thought I’d include.
Hi Italian Girl, I remember you telling us you were getting a dog, how gorgeous, I would go mainly white bedding, luxurious linen, keeping it understated is the key to compliment your bedhead and artwork , I remember your house so well .
