what type of timber is used for the pool decking please?
Hi Nicole - we didn't specify the timber on this job. But if you are in Australia, we would recommend an Australian hardwood -spotted gum, tallowwood or similar.
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I'm from Melbourne. I'm building a pool and would like to put timber on one side where I'm putting some lounge chairs but wasn't sure on the maintenance and whether timber becomes slipper when wet... I see timber used in a lot of pool settings, just curious...

Timber Battens / Decking suggestions
Timber is great in a pool setting. You really need to pay attention to the treatment of it as it is obviously going to take a beating - both from the sun and the pool water itself. Get the highest quality timber you can afford and the thicker the timber the better. We recommend pre-drilled and screwed rather than nailed for longevity and to avoid cupping of the timber. Regarding slipperiness, timber is great - it won't get slippery. The faux timber (resin based timber look alike) will so be careful of that. Good luck!
Thank you so much for the tip!! :-)
