A GUIDE ON LOVING YOUR LAUNDRY

ABI Interiors

As one of the most utilised rooms in our home, the desire for an organised, efficient and stylish laundry can be hard to come by. Whether you’re removing pasta stains off white dresses or folding freshly tumble-dried towels on a rainy day, our laundry serves us, unfailingly.

Contrary to how much it does for our home – unlike the bedroom and kitchen, the laundry has reaped the reputation of being a space that we’d rather hide than show-off. There always seems to be a million things that must be done, but we find a million and one ways to avoid going in there.

With an eager imagination and new perspective on storage spaces, you can ensure that there is room for everything your laundry needs, (and more). Here is ABI’s guide to loving your laundry with some of our favourite suggestions on how to welcome organisation and style – no matter how big or small it may be.

READ THE LABELS

As quite the detested activity, knowing how to clean certain stubborn or fanciful pieces of clothing can be off-putting enough to create a mass of ‘do-that-tomorrow’ tasks. So, to prevent you from shrinking those pants that cost you way too much money, take a photo or write down the contents of a label or online description, and keep it in an album on your phone – then send it to your partner and make them memorise it.

A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON STORAGE

Unsuspecting nooks, crannies, and empty corners in the room can be the perfect place to add shelving, containers and hanging storage. For a rustic style, consider a hanging rack from the ceiling or matching wooden storage boxes. For a modern look that can be accessorised, try a floating wall shelf or wired rack.
