If you love it you should keep it. Off white or similar plain fabric sounds great. I would use the chairs as accent pieces in separate rooms and pair the couch with modern/mid century chairs that have clean lines and legs to give a sense of space underneath them. These could be a different accent colour or work back with the same tones as the couch depending on other pieces. You could stain the legs of these to work with the wood tones on your couch. Good luck would love to see the finished room.

I feel that it would be pity to paint an antique Would you consider etching a floral or geometric pattern on the mirror? That would add some white to the cupboard without spoiling something with its own character & patina of age It would be easier to replace the mirror than remove the paint at a later date All the pieces you have chosen are lovely & should sit well together Good luck with the birth of your baby

Beautifically done ! My worry would be it is overcapitalising an ex-State House , but if you are going to live there 20 years , it won't really matter . The black towel rack/heater doesn't suit the door and cabinet IMO -- they would work if all 3 were black/charcoal ( but then the door would look mismatched presumably , against the rest of the house ) , or go lighter on the towel rail -- chrome would be the obvious choice . I hope the window is aluminium now , and while it wouldn't add much to the cost , I think 2 shower heads and a rainfall head ( if I read it correctly ) is overkill -- one or maybe 2 , but 3 yeah nah ! Pretty minor , and I could live with it as it is .

I would paint the trim the same colour as the walls. The skirting and architraves are not substantial and don’t need to be a contrasting colour. I also think Vivid White is harsh against your floorboards and current floor coverings. Have a look at some of the Three Birds Renovating houses. They and others use the same white - wall, ceiling and trims. It’s is a much more up to date way of doing it. If you go this way you may find Antique White USA, which is generally a colour I like, too creamy.
