You will get all sorts of opinion as colour is a personal choice. I have had and hated hogbristle. I’d go much lighter than all three to help light bounce noting your dark furniture.

Photo's would be super handy , but as a general rule I wouldn't do skirtings and doors in a similar tone to your walls . Unless you are a kindergarten , you wouldn't do red doors and yellow skirtings with blue walls , but my attitude is that anything that adds to a room along your desired theme is good !

I take it your doors are plain -- even in rental properties of mine , I have changed plain flat doors to ones with 3 or 4 panels , and painted them stark white against painted or wallpapered walls . Half a dozen doors like that are around $1000 , a solid timber front door in a similar style $400-500 -- suddenly , the tenants think I am looking after them ( generally it's done between tenancies , but you know what I mean ) . If it's your own place , even moreso .

Do have a look at good old Dulux Natural White. It’s one of my favourites. Doing the walls and trims all the same colour can look very smart. If you look at the Three Birds Renovating site you’ll see a lot of their projects do just that.

Thanks everyone! I took something out of everything you all said. I feel I need to go lighter as suggested, and will keep walls and trims the same colour (thanks for recommending Three Birds Renovating site - some lovely projects). And then possibly consider a new front door which I can make a feature of! One thing seems to lead to another. Once renovations start do they ever end? :) Thanks again. Very helpful.
