Would like advice and thoughts on whether you would integrate a frdge/freezer or just have a space for it in your kitchen? Pros and cons and your experience welcome.
If you can work it into the design, definitely. Things to consider; depth of the fridge will determine the depth of other cabinets alongside the fridge, fridges are generally quite a bit deeper than the standard 600mm deep cabinet. Other consideration is cost, not necessarily for the cabinet but for the actual fridge, integrated fridges are generally quite expensive & only a limited number of brands do an integrated option.
Higher cost for stream lined look and you are locked into a fridge and can’t take it with you. Need to design in ventilation around fridge. Basically design around the fridge, rather than just leave a wide gap.
Integrated fridges are more common overseas but they are an awesome feature. They are expensive as the demand in Australia isn't as high, If you are going to diy, I would get as much info as possible and be aware you may void the warranty as generally they require a licenced installer or kitchen company as we account for air flow ect... It is becoming a feature in many homes but the cost of the fridge itself and add on the doors, carcass can cost the same amount as just getting a new kitchen. I do however like the streamlined look, it makes everything look finished.
