Hi. The window placement and fireplace, would suggest an arrangement of an L shape of seating, ( connected or unconnected) so that one lot of seating faces the fire, the other faces the other wall (carport direction) but it remains as one , it would give you options for looking out of the windows, at the fire in winter or TV. I am struggling with plans for a new house and trying to decide where to locate the TV on the wall with the fireplace,and it is so difficult as it disrupts symmetry. I think that the offset windows will allow that space to work fine with the TV on the other wall.

remove the table under the TV, place it on the dresser in the corner but on a diagonal tilt so it can be seen clearly from the couch. The lamp just looks wrong - I would remove that all together and replace it with a large Pot Plant to soften the corner. Nick Nacks etc can only be chosen by you as you have to like them but I would go for something either antique to match the lovely ornate fireplace or modern like gold, silver, brass glass. I would replace the ceiling light fitting with something modern matching the colours of your Nick Nack's. I am not a fan of the mirror I would place a large mirror on the wall that is currently utilised by the TV - this will reflect the light from the windows - again use the colours of your Nick Nacks and new light fitting for the mirror frame or go entirely frame-less. I would then find a large / modern piece of art to place above the mantel. Obviously my choices / ideas come with no budget in mind but you don't have to do everything at once..... spread the cost if you need to do it all bit by bit. thanks, below is the bin cabin i am looking to get its 450mm https://www.arova.com.au/collections/side-mount/products/soft-close-70l-pull-out-waste-bin-for-450mm-cainet-white the reason i put 1440 wide is that the maximum wide benchtops comes in, since it needs a joint due to the column i can cut the 3000mm stone cut in the middle and make 1500 wide of more, no problems. moving the door involved too much work like cutting bricks, door frame etc. Agree the 600mm is too deep for top cabinets, i am thinking of doing 600mm drawers with a bench then like 300-400 gap, and top cabintes at 450 or 300mm deep.

To be blunt -- the room isn't really big enough ! So you have to sort out priorities , and space . You have a dining table , and a computer desk . Can you get rid of the computer desk , by having your computer tower mounted behind the couch or similar , and a wireless keyboard and mouse that you can use on the dining table ? Mount the monitor on a wall , or if you don't need in depth graphics , I understand you can use your TV ( I've heard something about the 'refresh rate' is less on a TV ? ) . Maybe even have a monitor but also the option of using your TV ? Could you use a 'breakfast bar' , probably where the computer desk is now , I know its not sociable all staring at a wall , but it would/could serve as a brakfast bar and computer workstation . Could you get rid of the dining table and chairs , and have a large coffee table , or 2 smaller ones , and eat 'casually' ( my polite way of saying eat sitting on the couch ) ? Even mounting the TV on the wall will let you get rid of the cabinet , but I gather you have gaming consoles in there ? And the present arrangement with the pot plants uses some space -- maybe some shelves with them on will still retain the plants but free up floor space ? Just some thoughts off the top of my head .
