Comments (16)oklouise thanks for the ideas. We have actually really thought about the zoning. We want the two bedrooms on the southern side with a bathroom between for privacy. We also want the eastern lounge room to pop out as a dining room in that spot will waste a gorgeous view. We had a straight alfresco and thought it was all a bit hohum. I will attach the first and second drafts to see where we have come from. The first draft we had drawn was too boring for us ... Garry hated draft 2 as he thought it was too wide for solar access and didn't give cross ventilation (north to south or vv). It's only positive was the flow of west/east cross ventilation. Also the bathroom was too tucked away for guest use when we are using that nice alfresco area. We quickly scrapped all those ideas... LOL As I said, we like skillion roof lines and are planning on clerestory windows to maximise northern sun. Some raked ceilings will probably happen too (and definitely 9 foot ceilings in living areas). the mudroom/laundry will probably be incorporated into the hallway. Unlike some on this forum previously I don't object to entering through the laundry. It kind of gives a landing spot for groceries from the car on those cold days you don't want to leave the whole house open. The garage may actually be a carport to ensure we can have ventilation come through that way and to help us with budget....See MoreOpinions on laminate for floating bathroom vanities please!
Comments (10)Difficult- the tiles and floor match beautifully it's just the laminate. Don't think brown works as grey tile has blue undertone Have you tried a navy against the tiles? I have navy laminate in one bathroom with osprey ceasarstone benchtop and warm grey tiles and looks great Thing is though laminate mist has to go with vanity top and splashback so if marble feature only above bath then could use White as clashes with marble but nice with grey tile and floor So hard nearly there...See MoreWould love some suggestions for this bathroom reno
Comments (6)Yes the old "Have to step into the bath to open or close window" dilemma! Maybe a small pod bath or free standing one that would sit onto tiled floor would be better: make the room look bigger too. There is room for it but if it is not huge you will be able to slumber into it and step beside it to reach window. Nice amount of space for a bathroom and looks like it might have a long outlook too? Comments (18)I would prefer to keep the WC separate to the Bathroom as you have 3-4 kids? who will get bigger very quickly, having a powder room downstairs won't help with the morning rush to school., But it's your house so I have added a pocket door between the WC and Bathroom. I have also taken that small robe space for an extra vanity in the WC/Powder room. No width dimesion given for the WC The ensuite could use that extra entrance space as a sit down makeup and hair bench for your wife....See MoreKate
