Hi Aleta1, youre getting down to the nitty gritty of Interior Design now. Choosing the perfect colour involves addressing many issues...size of your windows, orientation of the house, height of ceilings, size of rooms, purpose for room to name a few. If you have the time I recommend getting a sample pot of full and half strength and try it in a couple of corners of each room. That way you can see how the colour looks at different angles. Hi Alyssa Alban, For your floor boards - polyurethane with a satin finish is great for high traffic areas or if you have kids and/or pets. It is a hard wearing surface. The alternative is tongue oil for a more natural finish. A stain could be applied to change the colour and feel of the rooms. As for the walls and trims - if you want to keep the traditional look, I would suggest to maintain the timber trims or, if you would like to freshen or lighten up the scheme, I would use Dulux Natural White Acrylic Wash and Wear for the walls, and Dulux Natural White satin on the trims. If you're thinking about the doors, I would go with Dulux Natural White in semi-gloss, which is a nice clean finish. I believe that you can paint acrylic based paints over oil based paints as long as you use the appropriate sealer/undercost in between these two paint types, The people that sell you the paint will be able to assist on this, as well as Dulux/Truman’s websites. I did this at my home and it come up very well. In this case, 60 year old in built wardrobes were changed from mauve to natural white. I agree with the logic of what big reader is saying. From what I can remember, natural white already has some yellow/ochre in it, so the variation would be less noticeable.
