Hi there, is this a rental or do you own it, my first naughty thought was that furniture would be a great start, sorry. It is a great blank canvas to work with,
What is the room used for, what mood style are you after. Is there a view or do you want to keep it screened at al times. Grey is a versatile base. I would keep blinds neutral and add colour with accessories as blinds last longer.
To help with choosing window covers,/blinds, what colour and style of furniture do you have or plan on having. When the current blinds are open what do you look at, do you need privacy day and night. Aspect do you get a lot of sunlight in through the window and door, having had carpet this colour this is important to avoid fading immediately in front of the window and door. What climate do you live in and do you have small children. As big reader suggested matching colour to the walls will make the room feel more spacious,
Day night roller blinds for a modern look, relaxed romans for a soft elegant look, romans in a beautiful fabric or you could do shutters for a stylish look.
First , everything is boring , so leave the blinds as they look in okay condition . I have no idea what your furniture is like , and will assume it is really great , all nice and colourful and classy and co-ordinated and probably designer , and that you have 2 or 3 larger abstract pieces of art , a pot plant or two in co-ordinated gloss glazed pots . So your room will look great , although a little boring from outside .
Or change to natural wooden venetian blinds -- I know some people think they are getting 'old' but I love the warmth , they'd suit your place ( I imagine a reddish tinge , like cedar or similar ) , and add a lift . You still won't get away with boring furniture ( well , you might if you add colourful cushions and art and items to distract ) but it will look classier and warmer from both inside and out IMO .
The room would benefit from some warm wood and my first through was wooden venetians. But it could be in furniture. All depends on what the room is used for as if it’s a bedroom I would do curtains
