Can anything be done to renovate this pebblecrete? I’m inspecting this house soon to purchase, and I’m wondering if anything can be done to resurface it, or replace it? Internal and external columns
While I'm not a huge fan of pebblecrete on that house it honestly does not look that bad. I'm assuming those are cast concrete pillars which would render the house very 90's shopping precinct if they had no covering at all.
They look like they are in really good condition, but I wonder if they are really pebblecrete as I have not seen many examples applied vertically? I wonder if they could actually be an exposed aggregate, mixed in with the concrete mix, with the top layer of cement pressure washed off to expose the aggregate?
A pebbelcrete finish is usually fairly thin and applied over the top, so I would anticipate that it would crack and fall off when applied vertically to a curved column. If they are exposed aggregate then your house has a Brutalist feel to it. I love them and wouldn't be changing them. Anything else will look tacked on.
Best of luck
