Sorry forgot to mention the modular has an ottoman that I can move to left or right rather than having the fixed chaise.

I'd almost go 'ironic 60's' -- add 4 orange 'space age plastic' chairs to the table , the black couch , I gather the TV cabinet is black or if you don't have one , go for the biggest ( widest ) one in black a metre or 1.2 tall with TV on top , a rug in bright orange or apricot or sunshine colours , a big artwork in the same tones , or 3 or 4 30 or 40cm square ones in the same tones .

Carry through with bright orange or lime or yellow kitchen appliances rather than white or stainless , and you'll have your own little nest of sunshine !

Hello I love this thank you so much - so does black not make a room feel smaller? would the size of my couch be ok in this layout? I’m really not big on colour but would something like this work to help the room appear bigger? While I love yellow and orange it’s not a colour I navigate towards

The last photo is to show you current owners furniture to give idea brown carpet the longest wall is where the tv cable is situated. Haven’t bought a black unit but I love the idea of it - thinking something like the middle pic shown here?

01at image in sequence is colour of rug I was loving. But not sure if goes with brown carpet maybe need to lighten so it has an orange hue to it?

Personally , I wouldn't try to sell the couch and buy something else -- the existing tenants have white , but why either spend money , or get something inferior ? Even adding white cushions ( maybe 2 standard size , 2 oversized , one shaggy ) would help .

Problem there though -- who wants a white rug , cause thats what you'd need IMO if you went down that route .

The kitchen is pleasant , but imagine it with lime appliances ( not the fridge haha ) , or orange or candy apple red . . . . . . . . .

Depends on how the doors open but I would put couch on right wall and table down near left side of sliders. Couple of stools at bench.

The tv cable / input is on the right wall :(

In that case couch on left and table near kitchen on right. Plus bar stools. Rug under and in front of couch, depends on carpet colour so u will have to choose that. Floor lamp one end of couch.
