Need advice re bedroom artwork/decor
Comments (5)Paint the wooden furniture white, paint the metal bed frame a bright color, like the color of the throw on your bed. Hang the mirror across from the bed sideways on the wall instead on sitting it on the dresser. Get a blank canvas and use the paint you'll use on the bed frame and the wooden pieces to draw eccentrically circles, add a 2nd color, such as purple or fuchsia to the piece. You can add accessories from colors 1 & 2, and glass and silver accessories around. as for you "reading lamp" hang it lower on the bed turned up to add interest to your new art piece. Shift to reading from a lamp that is glass or silver on the small nightstand....See MoreWhat's missing?

I do commission works and exhibit in galleries - It seems artists have done a good job at implying art is wildly expensive - my aim is to make art inclusive, authentic and affordable. You can even pick the price of a commissioned artwork and we can work together to create something right for the space and budget. If you're keen, I'm happy to have a chat. You can contact me via my website www.janamcleod.com :) An artwork can transform a space and lend to it an atmosphere. It is uniquely yours and can connect you to a time, place, thought or feeling. In any room an artwork can add a sense of wonderment......See MoreDecorator advice wanted
Comments (8)Hopefully the doorway/walks are offset so that there isn't a direct line of sight from double doors through to toilet... Is there space at the foot of the bed for a small seating area? Lots of pics with this set up can be found on houzz to give you ideas. I would be inclined to move the bed towards the front windows and have a sitting area as the focus of anyone passing by....See Moreliving room layout and decor advice ...

You can consider yourself lucky :) Agreed, it would be better to swap the "lounge" and "dining" areas, just because it seems to make more sense to have the dining table next to the kitchen. You could then use the other space and have a large rug, a sofa or two, coffee table, etc. I particularly like the corner that the "laundry" room creates on the lounge. You could have an art wall, or a reading corner, and add personality to your space. You mention that the kitchen is quite modern, do you want to continue with the modern look in the lounge, or would you like to go for a different style? We offer a very affordable online interior design service, so we could work with you if you are interested. We would discuss your ideas with you and put a scheme together that brings the best out of them. By sending you a moodboard with all the elements we can help you to visualise the space. You will also get a shopping list with options to fit your budget. We are not linked to any suppliers so our recommendations would be tailored to you. Let us know if you are interested. We could design your lounge for 60$. www.lucianasanchez.com...See MoreHU-899915993
