Comments (16)www.allbuiltins.com.au I would suggest visiting some wardrobe company show rooms and display homes for ideas. You need to know what your needs are. For the walk in robe you want to have maximum storage that will suite your clothing, shoes hand bags etc. Take in to account what is worn more often? How much room do you need for long hanging for dresses and the like, Do you have a lot of business shirts or only tee shirts, suites generally need a bit more length to hang? Your height is also something that is overlooked, tall people may be disappointed with the industry standards for heights of top shelves, as long shirts will not fit well in double hanging, therefor the height of the top shelf may need to be raised to allow for more length in your double hanging. A top shelf should be no less than 1950mm high. New homes are often fitted with one top shelf at 1700 to 1800 high in the wardrobes, this is too low to include double hanging. Drawers may not be necessary in a walk in robes if you have a tall boy or chest of drawers in the bedroom. The walk in robe is best left for maximum hanging and shelves for hand bags shoes and foldable clothing, Some accessories like pull out pant racks can be an advantage but some just take up too much space. Comments (32)I think siriuskey's latest plan is better, as it extends length of double shower which resolves the issue of chute/cupboard combo door, and allows for a wider door into master bedroom. A wider door will be a more dramatic entrance to this large suite, so worth seriously considering. The plan does eliminate the linen cupboard; however. Personally, I would not want to store my bed linens in a bathroom simply because of moisture/steam. The generously sized walk-in robe has more than enough space for bed linens to be stored. That's where I stored mine in our last home. It was very convenient and only a few steps from shelf to bed. I stored all other linens in the wardrobe of upstairs spare bedroom, close to the kids' rooms. Re the double shower - I mentioned previously a 1.8m length is sufficient IF you have a glass sliding door that slides alongside track like a barn-style door. Hubby & I did regret not thinking about how awkward a hinged/pivot door would be. Current dbl shower is 2.2m and has the sliding door I described. We didn't request a longer shower, but the architect drew it up that way. Given my choice, I'd always go with bigger....See Moremaster en-suite layout
Comments (21)Thanks Margot, north is to the right of the plan above, but the master and theatre (east) face natural bushland, and the master is not to the right of the design due to cars entering on each street coming towards that corner (street to front and right). Being a corner block we wanted to keep as much privacy for the master if possibly. We plan on a full fence to enclose the back bedrooms and following that a white picket fence or other permeable fence around to the front, with trees planned on the north and east sides. It can get quite hot in summer here so not hugely worried about heat and sunshine etc. Also wanted the master to face the natural bushland. The garage could go on the boundary, though adds more cost and there is a small power dome so the driveway would need to curve around that. We have taken on board feedback for the bedrooms and powder at the back. Will have a play around and see what we can shift to make the bedrooms bigger etc. Thanks so much for the help :)...See MoreEnsuite/ WIR Reno help
Comments (12)I wasn’t sure if the WC can moved if so the washroom layout seems much better in your design Also adding the door towards the bedroom from the small lobby is good too, gives the room its own defined space but since the hall is too narrow not sure if it works out as a good space in the design or not...See MoreKate
