Which bedroom would you love most?
Comments (18)One thing about white walls is that you can easily put a naturally transparent colour (like yellow without whit in it) over the top if it starts to feel too clinical...really hate all white, large 'antiseptic' spaces...feels a bit soul-less, makes me wonder as to the state of mind of the inhabitants...= no personality, or just being trendy or...not wanting to 'show one's colours'. Don't trust 'empty-feeling spaces'. Love your riotous colour ideas! My walls are natural timber and I would not dare paint them,,it would be almost a sin! Am inspired by mahogany stained faux panelling here and there for a more luxurious look. When I'm bored or my head is too full I watch a soapie in which the house and the office are very grand places...strangely most of the walls are stained panelling and dark timbers..so bohemian style with a touch of multimillionaire residence! YOUR BED You say you cannot find what you are looking for...do you have a picture in your mind of the bed you want or don't you know? Could be a good idea to either do a sketch or several and see where the pencil leads you or maybe draw a definite pic of your dream bed. Alternatively, write it down..:"I want a bed that has......etc", This often helps to focus your thoughts...and...I've found that putting it out there either in a sketch you keep on a wall or writing it where you will come across it often seems to "call" the desired thing to you and all of a sudden...viola' there it is when you are least expecting it. Have fun!....See MoreGarage conversion - Any Ideas to hide garage door?
Comments (17)Hi. We were just discussing same option on the weekend. Our solution was......make up a timber frame to cover door ( like a false free standing wall) insulate with batts to reduce heat/ cold/ noise if required and then just gyprock over. You could actually do two false walls so if at a later date you wish to remove just half for whatever reason, it would be easier. These walls could even be on sold at a later date as there is def a demand for similar fit out. For the single door, you could always put cupboards under and then build them in by creating a false bulkhead to hide the roll or move one of the cupboards and construct a built in media cabinet with bulkhead once again to hide the roll. Hope this helps. ☑️...See MoreNeed help with attic conversion plan
Comments (9)Just looking at your plans again, any chance of doing a pop up roof both sides? Do you have to reinforce all the walls in your downstairs area - starting from ground level? I was just thinking in for a sheep as a lamb, if you're spending that much money can you possibly spend a little more and get maximum use from upstairs. It's so worth it, especially if you end up with a view of something/anything. Something else to bare in mind in insulation between upstairs and down which will stop noise travelling. I don't think you will need insulation in your upstairs ceiling as it tends to get very hot up there! We have a butanol roof on top which is supposed to last at least 20 years. One side of our upstairs are small verandahs which are lovely but rather a waste of space, but if you have any sort of view they would be incredible and increase the value of your property immensely - not to mention they are just lovely in the summer....See MoreMaximizing Attic Space in a Terrace Home - Before/After
Comments (0)Transforming an unused roof space into a living area will not only increase the usable area but the value of your home. Before: After: This attic conversion was part of a renovation of a two-story terrace house in Paddington. The brief was to create a well-lit and cozy children's bedroom in the existing unused and inaccessible attic space. We designed it in a way to fit also an ensuite and a walk-in wardrobe. Before: After: The addition of one traditional dormer to the front and a rear roof extension transformed the space into a bright and fun room. Before: After: Check out this entire project here! Ps. We have recently updated our website, let us know what you think!...See More- 5 years ago
