Any ideas on concealing a laundry in new bathroom?
Comments (7)A floor to ceiling cupboard would work well in this space. As mentioned in the above comment using Mirror on such a large surface in the bathroom could become a hassle to constantly keep clean. However if you do like to look of Mirror I do suggest a dark tinted mirror, as this would go quite nicely with the colour of your tiles and not look to harsh in the bathroom. For the doors a Pocket door system would work quite well! this is where the door is opened and then you can slide it back to be in line with the cabinetry. I would keep the colours of this cabinetry quite plain and stick to the same colour palette of the tiles. Goodluck !...See MoreBathroom/laundry combination?
Comments (11)i love my drop in tub with under bench washer and dryer but you need at least 1800mm width to make that work. Tracey's suggestions with the built in shower, stacked washer/dryer and bench with drop in tub with wall cabinet or shelf look ideal but only a plumber can really say what's possible and then you have to decide if the expense is worth it... much simpler would be to try wall mounted shelves or cabinet with doors and an open bottom shelf for "pretties", cut a hole in the back and side to make room for the power point and to feed the cable through out of sight. The wall cabinet would balance the look of the dryer and create some extra storage for minimal cost nb a 900 mm tall unit should be OK but make sure it's mounted high on the wall to match the top of the dryer and allows room to open the lid of the washer...good luck with it...See MoreLaundry to Bathroom Conversion
Comments (8)I want the additional (to be main) bathroom in the laundry, though it wouldn’t bother me if the laundry was incorporated into the new bathroom. ideally would like bath and separate shower in there. as stated, the existing bathroom would then be the en-suite and I would just look to add a toilet in there. Looking to design new plans around most cost effective way to achieve this...See MoreLaundry/Bathroom combo help
Comments (4)If you want to extend the tiles to the ceiling that is fine. But what practical point is that achieving? Looking at cost and possible removing and replacement of cornices if the tiles are thicker than cornice. Is there a separate toilet in the house, or will the combined bathroom/laundry include a toilet? If there is a toilet in the bathroom, then you are making a multi functional two room space into a one function space. Eg can’t put the washing in, while someone is showering or using the toilet. Or can’t use the toilet if someone is putting the washing on. Taking into account left over odours! Bathroom/laundry combinations are a good use of space, but there can be a negative impact if this is the only bathroom....See Moreoklouise
