Hey Jen… Love your living space…really fab! An oversized piece of art as a bed head is stunning (and there are NO rules!) … but if you're worried about leaning against it in bed…you could indulge in some fabric love and just suspend a panel from a rail above with some cool finials. Means you can decide exactly how much you line up with your architecture, and you get some hardware in amongst the fabric injection. I bet I'm too late anyhow! xx

Depends what kind of 'modern' you're going for. The exposed brick is quite industrial - if you wanted to continue that, and you're into DIY, you could make a pallet bedhead and even paint it the shade you want. Either attached to the actual base or up the middle of the wall as a feature. Like these: Let us know how you go!

Definitely no! It is actually not good for energy flow to have a mirror anywhere in the bedroom, according to the ancient art of Feng Shui. I can see it's appeal, but it would be off putting I think.

I don't mind it. I think you have the basis for a very opulent room if you embraced it. I would consider leaving the wall paper, but painting the other walls a dark charcoal or navy (whatever the background colour of the wall paper is). I would also turn the tall boy around so that it is against the window wall. Maybe add a nice mirror above it or two small framed pictures. I would get an opulent lamp for the bedside table, maybe something like a Tiffany lamp. And I would get some complimentary bed linen, possibly picking up the pink/peach colour of the birds in the wall paper or maybe the green of the leaves in the wall paper. With the dark upholstered bed head and bench seat, I think you should keep the bedding a little lighter (especially if you paint the other walls). Obviously, a bit of a declutter and general tidy would also help pull the room together.
