Help with Splashback

I want to change the splashback and would appreciate any advice. Currently it is tinted, mirrored glass. The kitchen is quite dark and the mirror just reflects more darkness. The bench tops are black granite with a gold fleck. The cupboard doors are brown/black striped. The floor is travertine.

Wow!! That looks fabulous, why not add strip lighting under cupboards above splash back , from your photos it looks beautiful but if you are set on changing the mirror I would look at getting advice from a kitchen designer to give you ideas to blend with what you have.

Does the splash back fix to an external wall of the house? Could you open it and install glass and treat it as a window. Natural light will highlight the beautiful features of your kitchen.

It really depends on your personal preference. I personally think that a splash back that is different to the marble island would be suitable! Have you thought about frosted glass or even a tinted mirror splash back? They do add value and can also be a great focal point in any kitchen. :-)

This kitchen is similar in aesthetic to yours. It has white tiles, flat profile cupboards, and is finished and accessories added. Looks beautiful. I would not change your tiles. They look like they have an undulated finish. They will bounce the light around in the room and add even more interest to compliment your wonderful timber features. I would, as siriuskey said, sit on your hands. Wait until everything has been finished.

Sounds nice but it is an internal wall.
