I need help with window coverings for my bedroom sliding door
Comments (2)I agree with the previous comment re the colour of the curtains and lining properly. Stick to something slightly lighter than the wall colour in a nice cotton or linen blend adding some fullness so when they are open they just clear the glass and frame the doors. I think a heavier rod either in a colour to match the walls or a metallic to compliment the bed frame would work well and I'd lower it slightly. You have plenty of space between the top of the doors and the ceiling so I'd mount the rod approximately half way to give more balance. Good luck....See MoreBest window covering for large stacker doors?
Comments (9)although i always prefer curtains a 6m wide opening will need either a very light fabric or about 1 m either side to fully pull back to each side where blinds would be able to be raised completely above the window (assuming there's somewhere to attach them) discuss options with a window covering specialist as there are some new options that may suit you better..i also suggest to clarify flyscreening, security and ventilation options for your very wide opening as we found a more flexible and cost effective result with a door height panel of stacked awning windows next to a wide section of stacking doors so that we can open the window for ventilation without opening the doors...See MoreSliding door window treatment in kitchen
Comments (12)I agree that you need a blind like a roller or roman that goes up and out of kitty's way. Nobody has yet addressed your query about panel glides: Panel glides work best on large doors where there is room to stack the panels when opened. you will lose at least one third of your left glass door panel if you use panel glides and they also project into the room quite a bit....See MoreWindow / Glass sliding door covering
Comments (5)Yip Yah, if you can alter the cabinetry. If all those sections and probably not the bookcase are narrowed to make a gap of 12-15cm, you can have an S-Fold track attached to the ceiling and the sheer curtains will go into the space when necessary. They may pop out a bit, but that will add to the scheme. It is difficult to assess the design scale of those sheers S-fold or Wave track - I usually use white tracks so they disappear and there is one that is only 1cm deep. This is a new way to install roller blinds, which will be hidden. This is more classic in fabric choice, but imagine that the blinds in your situation sit from the ceiling to just below the blocked-in section above the doors - depending on how the doors open. In some instances part of the door stack sits inside, this will mean the blinds will sit about 1cm above - but I prefer to cover all the horizontal lines if possible for a simpler scheme....See Moredreamer
