Hi Evee, How about something like this? It would give you a very roomy bathroom, with everything you'd need. You could, alternatively, put the toilet where the towel rail is, and put the towel rail behind the shower door, which would give you space for a storage unit behind the bathroom door; but stepping out of the shower to face the loo might not be very attractive! Also, anyone walking into the bathroom won't immediately see anyone on the loo, as it's behind the door. I know there could be a fair bit of plumbing reorganisation, but I think that, no matter what you do, that will be the case. I think it would be worth the investment for a really functional and beautiful bathroom, though. Oh, and don't forget to put in a couple of double power outlets at the vanity - there always seems to be too few in most people's bathrooms. New things seem to cost the earth these days, but you save heaps this way, and you can use your money for plumbing and electrical. Good luck! Would love to see a picture of the finished product.

with such generous spaces it would be possible to have a wider tall linen storage at the end of the shower and have the option of an extra wide vanity cabinet with storage underneath and consider space for an underbench washer or a stacked washer dryer to make a fully self contained granny flat...choice of doors would depend on how the rooms are used but i would choose hinged doors into the toilet and bathroom (cheaper labour to install, quieter, easier handles to use, better for moisture and sound control and the back of the door is an ideal spot for a rack or hooks for clothes and extra towels ... the door from the hall into the vanity area could be any types but depends how likely the door is to be closed but cheapest to install would be hinged, then external slider then cavity slider but always consider solid core doors for a better quality result and love the look of the doors in your photo but always good to have an idea of costs for each door for comparison as it can be a big investment when you may need many doors but i have no problem some doors being decorative and some cheaper plain doors but always prefer solid core doors and hopefully there will be some other suggestions for tiles and colour schemes

Hi, would you consider a built in bath for ease of cleaning? They don't have to be ugly if designed well. The wet rooms are great, a beautiful alternative to shower over bath. And to answer your question siriuskey. Yes the front room has been opened out into a verendah. This room got really hot in summer so wasn’t working as another living space. We’re restricted to what we can change at the front of the house as we are in a heritage area. We can make changes without a DA if we don’t change the front of the house. Agree we can change a lot with a wooden house, but I think we’ll be restricted on reusing windows. All our casement windows are original glass from the 1930s so won’t be to modern building code. If we move them, they’re gone. However replacing with modern glass would bring more light into the home. We’ve put fans in all rooms and always have the French doors open in bed 2 so light and ventilation haven’t been an issue. Might become so if we put a moody teenager in there though!
