Comments (33)Yes I must have ;-)). I planned to post earlier but had to hunt out the tin. It says to leave for 24hrs between coats but that’s dependent on weather conditions/humidity. I managed to get 2 coats on in a day if I started early enough & did the 2nd late afternoon. Yes, it came from Bunnings. There are others brands such as Feast Watson but I found this one really good. Put it this way those benchtops of mine (in bathroom & laundry) have been in place for over 5 years & they still look great. Correct, if you’re joining the board, don’t coat the end grain but make sure you coat the grain of your sink cutouts & also silicone well around the sinks. Good luck with it!...See MoreNeed to decide on stone benchtop brand and colour...
Comments (21)Oh excellent, thank you, it looks lovely! I have been to many of the suppliers but QQ is too far away for me with a screaming baby in the car and they won't mail me samples! Once I choose a stone mason I will view them in person because I hear even with Quartz each slab can be a little different. I was thinking maybe Lexicon quarter...warmed up a bit...but I'm not sure. Thanks for the warning, I do have time on my side so I might go get some sample pots and see what actually looks ok with our lighting....See MoreKitchen Benchtop Dilema

Comments (17)Each to their own , but I wouldn't replace the benchtops unless there is an actual reason . I wouldn't even replace the sinks , I'd take a different tack . What I like is the black window , the black stove , the black skirting . I could live with the cupboards , the benchtops , the sink . I'd change the tap to black , all the cupboard handles to black in a modern style , and change the tiles and splashback area . Black gloss tiles , or black gloss subways , would work , but maybe you are getting a bit too B&W -- add some colourful appliances in reds or oranges or citrus or teal jug and mixer and toaster may offest that , and add colour . Personally though , I'd play with bright red tiles , or black tiles but with really slim 25-30mm red or orange or yellow ones along the top . Then whichever colour I chose , I'd do a clock in the same colour too . Even if you don't need a clock -- basically , it's there for the looks . All the other ideas IMO are just playing with the blandness that's already there -- safe , but boring ....See MoreLochy Wragg
