I wanted to use a contrasting colour to by white subway tiles. I like the rustic look of the textured/artisan white subway tiles but they are uneven in their edges so would it make a darker grout look really wonky? anyone have any examples?
I use silver grout, it was the lightest grey on offer 18 years ago when I did my kitchen,
My subway tiles are hand made Spanish tiles. I don't know what you mean by textured artisan tile??I have used white grout. Our home is nearly six years old, and the grout is still white. I always rub a cloth over tiles if I have used the cook top. Keep it clean after cooking, and then it can't get dirty.
Would you use white grout or black grout on white gloss wall tiles?
Which subway tile do I choose for renovated kitchen
White grout or grey grout?
Any issues with matte-white subway tiles in the kitchen?
Found this photo with a grey grout. It would also look okay. Can not seem to find any examples of the hand made/rough edge tiles with black grout.
Your tiles are gorgeous! i just know though if I use white grout it will get so dirty. I like the grey grout there but do you think it looks unprofessional as makes the lines wiggly?
If your concern is the tiles, then get bevelled edge subway tiles.Hand made tiles are supposed to have the 'wiggly' edges.
You do realise that it doesn't matter what colour grout you have, it will still get splashes from cooking. You just need to wipe over the splash back after you have finished cooking, when doing the dishes. It's only a two minute job.The dark colour grout will not repel the dirt.
I would get white grout but get the grout sealed by a professional before use. Then it just needs a wipe over to clean it.
