You first need to plan the whole colour scheme and improvements for the front of the house. You don’t need to do everything at once but you’ll benefit greatly from a idea of the lot before starting anything.

I'm open to ideas about what colour schemes I could go with overall. You can see the mix of colours in the photo:

It's got Federation green roof, gutters, downpipes, front door and screen door.

The brick is darkish orange and brown.

The driveway is (faded) orange

The garage doors are (faded) cream.

Whats your budget ?

Personally , I'd go natural wooden doors , cedar or similar , they'd really set the place off , and redo all the cream , plus all the downpipes , in a crisp white . Oh , and waterblast the driveway -- its sort of okay , but would be better with a blast . Maybe redo at some stage in a charcoal , but I could live with the drive and the rest of the house as is .

But on a budget , doing the door in crisp white would improve it , do everything I suggested above too , but the door would still look clean and tidy , but maybe make the whole place look a bit dated ?

$10k or so for option 1 , $1000 for option 2 if you are handy on a brush .

I'd double down on my original suggestion .

Cedar garage doors and cedar main doors , with white everywhere in place of the cream , cost $15k , look $100k better . And a slight dislike of mine -- change the $40 letterbox for a $140 one .

I would go black. I don't think timber would offer enough of a contrast to red brick. But I would probably also re-spray roof in monument and do window frames in black.
Red brick and black is a fabulous combination.

I like the brick , with the white highlights , and the cedar door -- its a different style , and this has a monument or similar roof , but even if you imagine this with the greener roof , it all works IMO .

Second. When you arrive home what do you like and dislike.
For me, and it is personal, I find a brighter entry more welcoming. So I look at your house and feel more welcome by the cream garage doors than the front door. Which seems hidden but should be the welcoming feature. Hey but we mostly drive these days so the garage needs to be welcoming too.
Pottsy’s image above , which I love, has a lot of cream to brighten up the dark bricks. I’m not sure if you have enough timber to paint around your windows to get the same effect. I’d maybe look at rendering the porch and matching the garage to it. Painting the outside of the windows to match. If you don’t want to render Porch I would do a white front door. And create a path to the street.
So should you paint or replace the garage door. Firstly I don’t think the trim works as you don’t have arches anywhere else, If this can be removed and doors function then paint. And we can’t forget the role plants play.

We went with garage door the same color as the roof color. It looks nice !
