Would love some help with my living room - small beach house
Comments (7)I recently decorated our beach condo on a budget. Items to consider are bowls or clear glass vases with found shells displayed. Sisal rug and woven baskets make a coastal feel. The baskets are great for storage as well. I used white light and linen drapes found at ikea.Because of small size of room, i have glass tables to help maximze space. I am adding shutters found at a flea market as headboard for guest bedroom this year. I found many useful items from community sales. I frequent local beach decor shops some pricey to get ideas for arranging and adding items. I would put couch so can look out window to garden. Put it floating in the center of the room, Tv on wall. Two chairs sort of where they are now in photo. Small table and chairs located near door and kitchen. Looks like not much space there but look at ikea furniture as it is for small spaces. One ikea table is shown to be against wall and then pulls out to enlarge, it might work for you....See MoreFurniture placement for small, narrow living room.
Comments (16)I love your fireplace. I would not alter it. The door and the floorboards draw your eye straight to the fireplace. I wouod definitely alter the light fittings. I would have the tv on the dining room wall to the right of the arches. I wouod have one lounge on the window wall opposite the tv and a chair in the corner if there is enough room. I would have an eyecatching wing back chair to the left of the fireplace opposite the dining room and white lacy soft curtains softening the window wall. To the left of the fireplace near the dining room arch you could add some interesting decorating piece. I would concentrate on making the fireplace wall the focal point of the room and the tv corner a secondary focal point that is soft and relaxing. You could trow down a couple of beautiful, thick, soft floor mats to soften the brick and provide a texture contrast. Overall, I love the room, it has character and strength, its not boring and mundane. Good luck! I hope you find something that suits both you and hubby...See MoreLiving and meal space
Comments (17)Hi there, "you're gunna need a bigger house", as Retro said the garage would need to be used for a snooker table but they do come in all sizes starting around 2130 x 1070. I have done rough floor plan for you suggesting a change of entrance to the lounge so that it expands the family when the doors are open. The snooker table is suggested for the entertaining area as this will give space around for using the cue's without hitting walls, ie: two open walls that could have blinds or shutters to close it off when not using that space, not sure what your climate is. Hope this gives you some ideas cheers...See MoreHow to reconfigure to add a meals/activity room
Comments (5)Hello nat nat How about putting the laundry into the bathroom. Than Youre bringing the kitchen closer to the dining area where the meal area is right now. You can think about opening the kitchen up to the dining if wanted. The former laundry and part of the kitchen becomes a nice getaway are for you that is still close to the kitchen but out of the main pathways in your house. Put in a nice big window and door to the porch and you have a great area for yourself. You can also close it up to the kitchen if you want. Ben...See Moredreamer
