I like the first floor plan with the sink and dishwasher next to stove. With the cabinetry plan the dishwasher is right in middle of prep space which is annoying if you want the kids to empty dishwasher whilst you are prepping food on island. Just make sure you have 700 depth where fridge is and at least 1200 walkway in front of it.

Thanks Kate, there is not really enough room for a double sink and 900mm cooktop on the back wall at only 3m long, hence why it has been moved to island. Do you think reducing the island to have these bigger walkways is better? The island wont line up with the back wall, not sure if this is a problem or not?

Ok, there are always compromises. centre the fridge on the walkway between island and stove. Trim the bench at each end by the wall thickness of the stove bench ends. That way the bench cabinets line up with the cabinets behind. Only a little trim but it will be worth it.

Oh and maybe swap bin and dishwasher. Bin is great in prep space

Sink on island gives more room for pots either side of the cooktop. Dishwasher placement depends which hand you hold the item that gets rinsed before placing in dishwasher.
