Advice on hallway light please!?!
Comments (20)When you're looking to integrate a contemporary look within a period context, it's important to respect the integrity of the architecture - lighting pieces that marry old and new are the way to go. My favourite pendant in these settings would have to be the Jasper Morrison designed Glo Ball by FLOS. It is a classic piece that will stand the test of time and works well in both contemporary and period spaces. Here is one of my projects that includes the light in a contemporary home- Here is an image I've found (this is a project by NEXUS design), that displays the light in a more traditional setting-...See MorePaint and cabinet colour advise please.
Comments (9)@Kate Exactly, this is the one. @ausjoinery Yep, we have kids at home. Am not too fond of glossy finish due to finger print will be easily visible, but positive side of it is easy cleaning. @dreamer I was thinking about the darker cabinets too (Though am a white colour fan), awalnut brown or black or so on.....See MoreDinning table and lights advise please
Comments (3)I agree with Kate regarding rectangular shape and placement of table. This gives you easiest access to outside and other rooms as well as the opportunity to have a buffet, hutch or console for storage along the wall furthest from the kitchen. I have a square dining room too and always thought it would be great to have square table in it... until I did! While it suited the dimensions of the room, including a buffet never looked quite right. As an 8 seater it was difficult to have 6 for dinner without it looking weird- either one empty side or two empty seats. Square rugs are also much harder to find so you have less choice there too. After about 10 years of having that table we are renovating and I now have a rectangular table and buffet. It is much more versatile with seating as we can fit 8, 6 or 4 easily just by moving/removing chairs. We have a single pendant above it that ties in with the adjacent kitchen colours. Hope this helps in your decision making....See Morekids room please help fitting furniture
Comments (14)Thanks Kate This is what room looks like now, posting a pic of what we were planning to have in the WIR ( table in WIR is like a make up table with Hollywood mirror ) My daughter seems to be more keen in having a large WIR rather than the study nook . So I’ll think I’ll leave as its (with large WIR) and at a study desk somewhere in the room. Think there’s room for that . Thank u ☺️...See Moredreamer
