working with the couches I have how can I make my family room look nicer, I'm not sure about the lamp just put in for the photo, just need some new ideas
Remove the standing lamp and maybe get a second matching table lamp. Need a bigger coffee table and for me the gold/yellow cushion is not right, too bright. What are the boxes for.?
I have got two of the matching lamp tables, What colour do you suggest for cushions?the boxes are foot stools my little people also enjoy sitting on them,

More muted and perhaps greens to match lamp. If you like the yellow, add some more elsewhere to balance, like in a picture on wall.
You need some art and bigger pot plants, bigger coffee table a hall table/bookshelf for behind the couch
or just greys?
I want to buy more cushions but just trying to work out what looks best before I go buy new ones
Its a classic style. I'd embrace a vintage, gentlemans club vibe. there are some great suggestions here https://centsationalstyle.com/2013/05/decorating-around-a-leather-sofa/
I'd consider some wallpaper. i think everything you have is very classic and stylish. but the blank walls make it stark. vintage botanical prints or botanical wallpaper would look great.
I'd even just paint the walls green. Dulux Mossa or some of the other new zealand range from dulux are lovely. An antique cabinet of treasures would look good too.
Have you considered any wall hangings/art? Adding some more muted colours in the form of pillows or couch throws could be a nice touch. Also a lighter coloured rug with two tone rugs would help to bring the area together.
I would put one of your side tables with your coffee table to balance the area, like a nest of tables, remove small plants and box near window , replace with a large plant, this adds a great look to that corner, add textured cushions and throw in a softer colour.
