Which bathroom layout should I go with?
Comments (21)yes but I think it depends what market you are likely to be seeking in. if it's not family home market but more up market retirees then a glam spacious bathroom will win more plaudits from buyers than a cramped make-do space. I just strongly feel you should design your bathroom so it is a pleasure to use every day not just the one day a year you may want a bath (plus much as I like the style of bathroom Siriuskey has posted they really don't beg out for bathing in). But a vanity space where you can even have your own toothpaste if you like stripey and he likes plain and all stored neatly away so they never have to appear on display together and with a shower you can lift your arms up in is priceless if you ask me....See MoreShould I put my builtin robe near the bedroom door?
Comments (12)I would build a new floor to ceiling robe where the existing robe is, extending it across to the door frame and building storage across the top of the doorway to the same depth 600 as the robe, this will give great hanging space and privacy from the living room. I would then add draws approx 450 deep facing the bed, this will give more floor space, I would have a full height wall on the entrance side of the drawers to give privacy to this space which could have a TV or shelves or artwork above these drawers. By using drawers and not full height robes it will make the bedroom feel bigger while adding extra storage. cheers...See MoreShould I let my husband project manage our bathroom renovations?
Comments (16)We have been renovating bathrooms for more than 20 years, of late and with (reality tv ) a bathroom renovation appear to take a mere few days. . It has now become unreal expectation, for a quick cheap bathroom renovations ( "I renovated my bathroom for $ 5,000" ) Bathroom renovation businesses and builders require a 25% to 30% for overheads plus profit. And most work, if not all is sub contracted out, demolition, plumbing, electrical, rendering ,villaboard, waterproofing, tiling. (one very large renovation business dictates rates to trades, e.g render a bathroom for $ 600 including materials.) Rather than to try and compete with the cheap, poor quality businesses,we have changing our business to advising/supporting/teaching home owners ( as your husband ) to renovate their own bathrooms, with our home inspections. The key to a Bathroom Renovation...is Meticulous Planning......See More3m high Bathroom walls - should I tile to the top?
Comments (9)after tiling to the ceiling in my high ceiling old bathroom i've decided that "next time" i would prefer to keep the tiles in line with the top of the architraves around doors and windows...tiles are there for a long time and so many tiles make me feel like i'm in a public bathroom and although i love the look of the new bathroom i miss the opportunity for some colour and/or texture with paint or wallpaper that can be changed so much more easily, cheaply and more often that extra high tiled walls...See MoreAnna Carolina Anderson
