I would get an upholsterer to do a couple of long foam cushions for the seats - colour would very much depend on the rest of your home, but teal would look good there (and so would navy).

thanks so much. I want to draw the attention to the champagne candy pendants and to be the feature behind the dull brown overheads. I'm thinking it's ok to mix metals. I forgot to add the canopy rangehood which will be installed behind the pendants. I hope it won't clash! My stainless steel kitchen appliances are yet to be installed.

They look great in that photo, Northstar! Works beautifully. Will be fine over your bench. Didn't realise how large your p really space will be. Wow! No, if you replace pendants that have staggered drops, the fittings are completely removed and new pendant fittings are installed in their place. The electrician just shortens the drops without cutting them & the extra lenth is hidden away in ceiling.

How wide are the shell pendants that you have posted? The peninsula is only 2500mm so if you have more than one over that bench top, it may look crowded. I would not do pendants where you want your DINING table in an open plan space. This then restricts/dictates your positioning of ALL furniture. I would do smaller pendants as per Julie Herbert suggestions. The shells will date quickly. And they will always need dusting.
